At Grundfos’ headquarters in Bjerringbro, Denmark the Group Facility Space Management is committed to finding new and innovative ways to upcycle existing office furniture, thereby reducing waste. And at HOLMRIS B8, we use our expertise and talented service team to make the ideas come to life.
This collaboration has resulted in a handful of projects, where we have handled the upcycling. Here is a few examples:
- Used cabinets are upcycled into three room dividers
- 180 new lockers are made from old cabinets
- 12 tired cabinets have gotten a fresh new look with a little creativity and some paint and now fit seamlessly into Grundfos’ modern office
- 20 desks have been resized and refurbished with new folio on the frame and a new tabletop
- 110 used Trinidad chairs have been updated with new paint
- 80 used Friis & Moltke Collection 600 chairs have been painted and 50 of them also got new upholstery
- 20 used tables have been refurbished with new laminate
Our initial assessments indicate that for every cabinet Grundfos has upcycled, they save approximately 100 kg (estimate) of CO2e compared to purchasing new cabinets.
