Furnishing in Harmony with Nature
HOLMRIS B8 Norway is proud to have contributed as an advisor and furniture supplier for the five spectacular Grend cabins that opened in Bø in the summer of 2023. The interior concept for the new cabin area – located right by Bø Sommarland and pristine nature – was developed by the architecture firm Snøhetta. HOLMRIS B8 Norway provided consulting, project management, and the delivery of furniture and fixtures.
“The collaboration with HOLMRIS B8 Norway and the entire process has been incredibly smooth. Our goal was to create a package that could be standardized, allowing us to meet our ambitions of quickly and easily opening more Grend cabins,” says Aziz Chaer, Project Manager at Grend.
Flexible and Timeless Furniture
The Grend cabins are designed to offer a family-friendly cabin experience, combining closeness to nature with modern conveniences. Each cabin is equipped with a fully furnished kitchen, living area, two bedrooms, and an entryway with a bathroom. Grend wanted to furnish the space with multifunctional furniture, capable of adapting to various needs and uses. In line with Grend’s vision for high standards and comfort, HOLMRIS B8 Norway has worked closely to select a range of quality furniture that not only meets the functional requirements but also has a timeless and aesthetically pleasing appeal.
Catering to Students and Tourists
During the summer, Grend rents out to tourists vacationing in Telemark, while the rest of the year is reserved for students. The goal is to be the most sustainable option for student housing in the area.
“By collaborating with HOLMRIS B8 Norway, we have developed a flexible furnishing plan, where, for example, the beds can be folded up and used as desks. The same applies to the solution that combines the living area and outdoor space. Students can leave the chairs outside one day and still use them comfortably indoors in the living area the next day.”
Sustainable Development
Grend is a project in progress, and we will continue working together to make it as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible. – “We are very pleased with the follow-up and excellent service. It has been important for us to have a single point of contact, regardless of the manufacturer of the different pieces of furniture, especially during the hectic establishment phase. In collaboration with our architects at Snøhetta, HOLMRIS B8 Norway has also helped assemble a furniture package that matches the materials and color palette of Grend. The result is completely cohesive, and we are looking forward to continuing this journey together!”
