Distinctive BIG Architecture with trendy HAY Furniture
In Esbjerg, right on the water, the global Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingells Group (BIG) has designed a spectacular new housing complex with an amazing view. The distinctive building, with its spacious interiors, odd angles and nearby beaches and bike trails, is a classic BIG architectural design. Inside, A Place To offers the city’s students and hotel guests bright, modern rooms full of quality materials and beautifully furnished with designs from Danish HAY.
While BIG created the architecture, HAY’s own team created the interior design concept. HOLMRIS B8, as one of the world’s largest HAY dealers, served as a vital bridge between HAY and A Place To. In close collaboration with Hay, we took care of customer contact and project management, as well as the supply and installation of all furniture. Furthermore, we were responsible for selecting all beds and other additional furnishings.
New Co-living Concept
A Place To calls itself a flexible new co-living concept for students and young professionals. This extraordinary building in Esbjerg houses 117 studio apartments ranging in size from 30 to 102 square meters – all furnished with HAY designs and with a private kitchenette and balcony.
The natural surroundings are echoed in the homes by wood paneling from Reform and special cement flooring evoking the nearby sandy beach. All apartments are fitted with built-in bed niches complete with a mattress, while CPH Round tables and Revolt chairs from HAY make up the dining furniture.
When it’s time for relaxation, each apartment features soft seating in HAY’s ARBOUR sofa. And finally, all apartments also boast a specially designed shelving system from HAY.
Drinks in the Sky
In addition to student housing, A Place To also features a variety of common areas which make up the heart of the new co-living concept. In Atrium and Staytion, residents are provided with everything from ping-pong and foosball to yoga and movie rooms – and all spaces are furnished with stylish furniture from HAY.
Finally, A Place To also has a hotel area with three types of rooms, as well as a restaurant and cocktail bar on the 17th floor.
