Hip New Bakery on Iconic Industrial Site
At a trendy Refshaleøen location in Copenhagen, Noma Group have opened another branch of Hart Bageri, their innovative and hugely popular bakery and café chain. Light-colored natural materials, plentiful indoor greenery and soft furnishings superbly balance the bakery’s authentic industrial setting that once housed the iconic Burmeister & Wain shipyard.
The architects behind the new bakery are Spacon & X, while HOLMRIS B8 were responsible for supply, fitting and installation of the bespoke furnishings.

Light and Warmth All Around
Founder Richard Hart’s vision of baking with only the finest ingredients is underpinned by the bakery’s design concept.
The light and airy spaciousness of the high ceilings and expansive windows is grounded in chunky wooden structures running from floor to ceiling. For an intimate atmosphere, the bakery’s patrons are surrounded by greenery on plant bridges spanning the interior, cozy diner nooks upholstered in Kvadrat fabrics, warm hues on the walls and light-colored artisanal woodwork everywhere.
HOLMRIS B8 custom-made all the furnishings for the latest Hart Bageri, from the bakery’s long counter for displaying bread and pastries, loaf shelves and bread roll trays to the plant bridges, inset wall racks and modular sofas with tables. All crafted from FSC®-certified glulam and solid pinewood with visible knots to emphasize the honest craft of this artisanal bakery.
The Refshaleøen branch of Hart Bageri is the first of five furnished by HOLMRIS B8 in 2023.
