New State-of-the-Art Innovation Center at Former Copenhagen Police Station
A former police station in Frederiksberg has been transformed into a vibrant community and innovation center for more than 400 students enrolled at eight universities and educational institutions. CBS Station is the world’s first student-run innovation center, where students, start-ups, researchers and established businesses can exchange new ideas and develop new projects in collaboration.
The design concept for CBS Station was developed by architectural firm ArcgencY, and HOLMRIS B8 has supplied all furniture, including installation and coordination tasks.
State-of-the-Art Design
The key aims in the renovation and design of CBS Station were to establish state-of-the-art facilities and attractive premises to welcome students and external partners.
A core element of CBS Station is a large area with project workspaces, which are equipped with HOLMRIS B8’s own Quadro and Q2 tables, Labofas Heritage Collection chairs, and New Order shelving from HAY, while the student center’s large project space also features Heritage Collection chairs and Snap tables from HOLMRIS B8. The Framery Pod offers sound-insulated spaces for online meetings without interruption or disturbances.
In the unique Makerspace, which serves as a workshop and idea space for CBS Station’s suers, HOLMRIS B8 has supplied a custom-made work table and a series of KEVI stools from Engelbrechts.
Relaxation in Attractive Surroundings
In addition to work and project areas, students can relax and exchange new ideas in the lounge areas, which are fitted out with furniture from Artifort, Verpan, Alki, Gubi and others. In the cafeteria, lunch and conversation can be enjoyed at the long Slice tables or around the café tables from Normann Copenhagen. And for a full-scale unwind, users can take it easy in the relax room, where HOLMRIS B8 has supplied yoga mats, Grandprix chairs from Softline and little cork tables from Vitra.
HOLMRIS B8 has also supplied all the furniture for CBS Station’s meeting rooms, boardroom and large conference rooms with space for 90 people.
