A loving embrace in curved glass and concrete
For more than 150 years, Diakonissestiftelsen has pioneered developments in nursing in Denmark. And in 1997, the organisation opened Denmarkâs first hospice. Over the years, this hospice outgrew its original location and more space was needed, and in 2016 the ribbon was cut for a brand new and larger hospice in Copenhagen.
Beautiful surroundings in the big city
The new Urban Hospice is a building of super quality, focusing on every detail, both outdoors and indoors. It is a place that makes people feel seen and cared for in a loving and professional manner. The building is a combination of curved and straight elements that give residents both spacious views and privacy.
The interior design therefore focuses on the inflow of light and large windows from which nature and the passing of the seasons can be observed. At the same time, private spheres have been created where homey cosiness, calm and intimacy make room for the individual. Each room is fitted out in light hues to create a calm and welcoming atmosphere.
NORD Architects designed the building while HOLMRIS B8 supplied all the furnishings.
