At Holmris B8, we are thrilled to announce our upcoming move to Aarhus. In the second quarter of 2025, we will establish our new home in TRÆ, Denmark’s tallest timber building, located in the Sydhavn district of Aarhus. Standing at an impressive 78 meters with 20 floors, TRÆ is not only an architectural landmark but also a milestone in sustainable construction.
TRÆ: A building with purpose
TRÆ is more than just an office building — it’s a symbol of a new approach to construction that prioritizes materials, processes, and people. The structure is built using wood, concrete, and glass, with many materials either recycled or upcycled. For instance, discarded wind turbine blades have been repurposed for the facade, alongside reused facade panels, bricks, and insulating glass units from previous projects.
The architects behind TRÆ, Lendager Group, envisioned a building that actively contributes to reducing CO2 emissions. As architect MAA & CEO Anders Lendager explains:
“One of the important aspects of building with wood is its ability to capture CO2, which is something we desperately need when constructing sustainably.”
Holmris B8’s role in TRÆ
At TRÆ, we will have two dedicated floors designed to inspire both our employees and guests. These spaces will feature innovative interiors, including our Recrafted Collection, crafted from upcycled and recycled materials. Additionally, we will showcase the best offerings from our extensive network of brand partners in a setting that reflects our values.
TRÆ will serve as both a workplace and a showroom where we can share our passion for sustainability and innovation with clients and collaborators.
Social responsibility and local initiatives
Our decision to relocate to TRÆ is also motivated by the building’s commitment to social and local initiatives. Two particular efforts stand out:
- Det Kærlige Måltid (The Loving Meal): A nonprofit organization providing free, nutritious meals to families in challenging times. As a tenant in TRÆ, we help support their rent, enabling them to focus on their essential work.
- SydhavnsPedellerne: A work community for vulnerable individuals that contributes to maintaining and cleaning the Sydhavn area. They have been involved in TRÆ’s construction process and will continue to play a key role in the area’s upkeep.
These initiatives align with our values and allow us to contribute to strengthening the local community in Aarhus.
Excited for new adventures in Aarhus
With our move to TRÆ, we look forward to being closer to our many customers, design studios, and architectural partners in Denmark’s second-largest city. This new location offers opportunities to enhance collaboration and create inspiring spaces for both colleagues and guests.
We can’t wait to transform our new premises into a hub for great ideas and strong relationships — and we’re excited to welcome you when we are settled in 2025.
